Grown in peat soil that’s irrigated with the snow melting from the California Sierra, harvested and packed the same day for freshness. Native to Europe and North Africa but due to its health benefits has been planted and now grows all over the world. As the name suggests, the plants’ leaves do contain stingers or hollow hairs. With a flavor similar to spinach and a peppery bite reminiscent of arugula, we’ve seen this herb being used to make pesto, incorporated into fresh pasta and we are curious as to what YOU might do with them?!
